About Us

Who we are?

Cows for Cambodia is a grassroots charity based in Siem Reap that helps break the poverty cycle in rural Cambodia, and it all starts with a pregnant cow. We loan pregnant cows to families in need. Once the calf is born, the family raises it as their own, and the original cow returns to our farm to begin the cycle again. Each year, families can sell a calf at the market which can double their annual income. They also use the cow’s manure as fertiliser to boost their crop yields.

It’s about creating independence, not dependence. But it doesn’t stop there.
Thanks to the generosity of legends like you, the charity now also supports:

  • Free education at our Agricultural Learning Centre and Chambok Future
  • School
  • Housing projects for vulnerable families
  • Food relief through our Rice Runs
  • Ongoing community support in rural villages

Everything we do is designed to give families a leg up, not just a handout.

Meet the Brahmans

We breed Brahmans, a hardy and heat-tolerant breed perfect for Cambodian conditions.

They are built for the heat . Their loose skin and short coat keep them cool in tropical climates.
They are resilient. Naturally resistant to pests, drought, and tough terrain.
They are relatively low maintenance – They thrive on lower-quality feed and still grow strong.
They are excellent mums. Protective, nurturing.
They are long-lasting and stay productive for years, making them a smart, sustainable choice.
They’re calm (with good handling), iconic in appearance, and help us build stronger, healthier herds for future generations.
